FSB Gibraltar was built by the 1/12 Cav in late '71 and occupied until early Jan, '72 when the Bn was sent to Tuy Hoa to stand down the air base there. The AO was in War Zone D, and BG Hamlet replaced the 1/12th with the 2/5th to keep a US presence in the AO. When the 2/5th left the FSB in Mar, '72, the 1/12th did not reoccupy Gibraltar, but built FSB Bunker Hill, still on the Dong Nai, but downstream of its junction with the Song Be. Bunker hill was the last major FSB built in-country by US forces. |

I was the FO with A Co. 2/12 Cav as we supported a major operation against Ap Van Trinh on March 12th and 13th, 1968, YD 515469. We got into a firefight on the 13th a click or so to the S.W. - multiple wia - including two wia from "friendly fire" for which I was responsible. Another Cav unit was to clear the woods to the S.E. of our position and we were pulled out...probably to return to LZ Jane. Looks like it was C 2/5. The picture of Capt Carroll was chilling as I had not seen him since Feb '68 in Bong Son. Saddened to learn of his death up North. Birth Control 62 1/77th FA/A 2/12th Cav |

Me and my dad who was E 2/5 cav just spent 2 days talking about Ike. I found this page and he was at Ike in November 4. I served with E 5th CAV BRT in Afghanistan. If you guys have any info on E troop could you please contact me or help create a page for them just like this one |

Served with C2/5 in 66 & 67. I brought out supplies & ammo on Hueys. Then pulled perimeter guard on the closest LZ. Served under Capt Fry & Capt Markham.First Sgt Phillip Miller I was in contact with the most. Does anyone know 1st sgt Miller? When we lost so many on 3/11/67, i knew lt. Dana L Gerald, Freddie Marshall & Calvin K Graeser. Ill see them in Heaven. |

I am the son of SGT Michael S. Tucker who served from AUG 1970-71. He was 6'5" from Laconia, NH and was left handed. I am interested in speaking or emailing with anyone that remembers him. Unfortunately he passed in 1995 from a heart attack. My father never knew about me since my mother gave me up for adoption without telling SGT Tucker. I missed meeting him by 2 years. I am a 23 yr vet and want to hear the stories if any of you remember him. Thank you for the consideration of my personal request. I am planning of attending the reunion in September and share the photos I have from his files. |

referring to previous comment... I found pinegar on the virtual wall,he was w/ coB 2/5.got to meet him at ft.carson ,Co.didn't see him at Benning and prayed w/him daily as we sailed 29 days to viet nam,arrived 9/65. |
